Mike takes a while to get to the point - and that journey itself is wild - but he finally hits the nail on the head with the 3 key points concluding his post - understanding interrelationships in a AI environment , the essential skill of critical thinking and reading - my God - reading? It all comes down to that? Heaven help us all
It's even more frightening if you are a picky eater. Surely people are dysfunctionally paranoid and believe that all the books are cooked. So they distrust most books and consume only the elect few. They do so without the understanding of the huge level of energy required to cook ALL the books (including those written before the controversies at hand), and misjudge the small level of energy keeping their ragtag rebellion alive. Then the rebellious few are crushed, or fall apart in shame and this boost the general paranoia.
I now question who is funding whichever website I am reading and who benefits by me having the information I acquired. Substack is the rare exception where the authors perspective is truly discerned by the author.
Enjoyed. Secret knowledge was always a component of tribal societies and even medieval craft guilds. Transparency through IT has not only killed ‘expertise’ but placed the burden of expert thinking into absolutely everyone. It’s madness.
