Yeah I know. I’ve been doing this business for 25+ years, and I can’t tell you how many companies refuse to hire me because I’m not the narrow specialist with a PhD in Applied Mathematics & Economics. Any company that hires me is grown up enough to admit they don’t know what they’re doing. But the tautology is that hiring an ML guy means they do know what they’re doing. I’m not the ML guy, I am the guy the ML guy wishes to God he or she could work for, because I understand the territory — over 4 generations of software in a dozen industry verticals.
