In left politics and academia I hear a lot of new anticapitalism, often aligned with antiracism.

I don't know how far that's gotten among black Americans.

You could spitball an estimate of black academics who sided with Claudine Gay and who were outraged by Roland Fryer. There is, in fact, a black academic left whose capitol I would say would be Temple University. That would be very different than those at other HBCUs which, for example, didn't go whole hog for BLM or for HAMAS.

BTW, checkout this thread on Facebook. You'll catch the flavor of Critical Theorist diet among the black left. https://www.facebook.com/jadashi/posts/pfbid02t3QdhVzDvxesXBXTbrQiCS5AxJAtBT4YxWkEMJtMqw3Ux6gAoZzzRtSJM6MxU8Jxl

This FB thread is just white people saying they like some literary fiction. Is this the correct link?

This was very interesting. I had not given Black capitalism much thought; I dont think most Black leftists/anti capitalists dont know very many Black billionaires which is why all their ire is reserved for Jay Z and Beyonce. Beyonce also capitalizes on things Black cultural activists claim to want (ie Black country music) and sells it back fo them.

But I rarely see critique of Oprah or Rihanna, or any of the other Black billionaires who exist. My impression has always been that many Blacks, even on the left, deeply desire class ascension, but wont admit it to wanting to be millionaires and billionaires. You see this with BLM grifters who used donation money to try and live the high life (ie buying expensive homes, going on lavish trips, etc).

In fact, most of critique from Blacks on the left about billionaires is because they are not progressive. But theu arent interested in white billionaires who find progressive ideology/movement. Most of the critiques about the wealthy from Blacks always comes up short amd otherwise half baked.

I perceive that there is a very basic desire to have evergreen ideas like 'Recycling Black Dollars', and this is part of crude calculations of what 'the Jews' do to uplift their own communities. Therefore there is a fairly constant demand for successful blacks to 'give back' to their communities, but on a national basis. But I think the rubber hits the road with minority set-asides from government largess and some basic financial planning services by black-owned businesses. I don't know where the Federal 8A program is these days...
