You might find this article from the Smithsonian from earlier this year interesting. It does details some of the new scientific discoveries about motherhood and changes it brings. Women in a very real sense become chimera after giving birth, for example as they do carry around cells from their children. https://www.smithsonianmag.com/science-nature/new-science-motherhood-180977456/

Quote;”People’s sexuality is an essentially private matter. We all think it a bit creepy and unnatural to walk around naked and have audiences to our sexual activity. There is something evolutionary in our sense of shame and/or sexual modesty.” << This is hit home to me, Michael. I cringe when i see explicit sex scenes in films (not porn, just R-rated). Also tv commercials for feminine hygiene and recently, graphic toilet paper, etc. i was quite active in my “salad days,” but my sexual escapades was sub rosa and private. I once told a black friend that IMHO, Jews don’t feel shame in the same way as Christians. I know this is a gross generalization but perhaps it’s b/c Judaic values are different than Christians. No judgement...just an observations.
